Over the years we have many good relationships with outsourced females and their owners. This gives bitch owners an opportunity to enjoy raising puppies without the hassle of “becoming” a reputable breeder with an established client base. If your bitch passes our requirements and we feel you would be a good fit for our program then we train you in all aspects of the puppy breeding and rearing process. You have the option of having us birth them out as well and then go home with you the next day. You will need to be well educated on early neurological development, ENS work, socializing, Zen work, problem solving, potty and crate training and the early stages of basic obedience. These tools will allow you to raise the puppies for an 8 week period so that they are healthy and well started for their new owners. You must possess the ability to take a good quality photo and video. If you are unable to then we suggest you take some online courses or find someone (normally a teenager) to take them for you. TRR always prefers to raise the litters here as they are easier to sell and we can guarantee the quality that we put out.

Bitch Requirements:

• Must be at least on her second heat cycle and a minimum of 18 months old

• Must not be over the age of 7

• Have a full DNA profile complete for the 7 most common Border Collie diseases (Through Animal Genetics or Optimal Select)

• Must have NO genetic defects

• OFA Final or PenHip for hips and elbows with a good or excellent rating

• CAER and or BAER certificates

• Must be in optimal health and weight

• Must have NEVER shown any signs of aggression or high fear levels

• Must have low to medium drive (NO high drive dogs) and have a favorable personality, temperament, sound structure and rough coat

• Provide us with professional quality photos of bitch for advertising.

• Provide us with all heath and AKC paperwork copies

Bitch Owner Requirements - Owner Raising Litter:

• A proper birthing box with pig rails, a nursing room with proper sections (sleep, eat, potty, play) and kennels for crate training puppies. You will also need color identification collars, lots of sensory toys, bedding and a kennel Facebook page or website.

• Prenatal vitamins will be given to bitch while pregnant (NuVet is recommended)

• Ultrasound bitch at 30 days gestation and x-ray at 56 days gestation

• Document, weigh, photograph and video each puppy when born

• Give puppies Neopar (Parvo vaccination) at 6 weeks old.

• Remove dew claws at 3 days old

• Bi weekly puppy updates on the bitch owner’s kennel Facebook page or your kennel website. Including quality photos and videos

• You must be able to take or have someone take these photos and videos for you and they must be good quality!

• Puppy Culture development must be studied and practiced. In addition; socialization, desensitizing and daily handling

• Zen puppy training will be shown to you and administered into your puppy training along with multi animal/human socialization.

• All veterinary fees are the responsibility of the bitch owner including but not limited to puppy illness or injury before 8 weeks of age, C-sections, ultrasounds, x-rays, vaccinations, deworming and puppy wellness exams

• You will provide each puppy with a scent toy that will be given to the new owners

• Puppies will be given NuVet vitamins starting at 6 weeks of age and given daily

• Order AKC 3 generational certificate and AKC registration applications for all puppies at two weeks old

• Puppy food is your choice but a three day supply must be provided for each new puppy owner on go home day

• You will need to have a fecal sample from the litter examined by a veterinarian at 6 weeks of age for parasites.

• You will make sure that puppies will receive one Neopar vaccination at 6 weeks old, a TDAP vaccination at 8 weeks old and deworming with Safeguard every two weeks starting at two weeks old over a three day period. Dam will also be wormed 2 weeks prior to delivery and then wormed again whenever the puppies are wormed. Puppies will have a veterinary wellness examination at 8 weeks old at Modesto American Pet Hospital, where puppies will “go home” with their new owners unless other arrangements are made.

TRR Requirements if owner is raising the litter:

• Breed bitch from first day of flagging heat until ovulation on site or next day ship two straws of viable cooled semen to your vet. All onsite veterinary services performed by TRR are all inclusive in the breeding fee including board, artificial insemination, semen evaluation, live cover and ovulation smear tests

• Broker the entire litter (unless you choose to keep one puppy that is NOT pick of the litter)

• Advertise, screen and communicate with all buyers under our ranch name

• Implant and register microchips on go home day

• Set ears on go home day for all owners that choose that service for their puppy

• TRR schedules and transports all shipping for puppies not being picked up at Modesto American Pet Hospital

• TRR will be at the vet with bitch owner to meet and hand out puppies on go home day if within Northern California

• All owners will be given the stud dogs copy of their AKC papers, DNA disease profile and OFA hip and elbow reports

• All puppies are sold with the TRR health guarantee and TRR takes on all responsibility for the puppies once they go home with their new owners. Puppies will be sold with our contracts. No communication is allowed between puppy owners and bitch owner.

• We supply the entire puppy pack that the owners go home with including tote bag, toys, leash, collars, treats, training tools, custom blankets and a puppy starter kit. You may add to it if you would like.

• TRR will pay you in cash on puppy go home day for your portion of the litter profits

TRR Requirements if TRR raises the litter:

• All aspects of birthing, raising, schooling, care, veterinarian scheduling and bills, AKC paperwork and fees, all photos and videos of puppies, all liability, vaccinations/deworming, microchipping, removing dew claws, setting ears, sales, go home supplies and health guarantees.

Stud Fee: TRR reserves the right to choose either option listed below at the time of birth of the litter (We normally always choose pick of the litter).

• $3,500 stud fee. Due on puppy go home day or,

  Pick of the litter (full registration)

• Brokerage Rate (Bitch Owner Raises Litter): TRR will pay bitch owner $500 per puppy. No consideration for sex or color of puppies. All monies will be paid on puppy go home day in cash.

• TRR Raising Entire Litter Including Birthing: TRR will pay bitch owner $300 per puppy. No consideration for sex or color of puppies. All monies will be paid on puppy go home day in cash.

• Owner’s Pick: Bitch owner is given one pick from any one litter to keep or sell. TRR reserves the rest of the litters to broker. TRR reserves the “first pick” from any given litter.
